Health surveillance is a system of monitoring employees’ health and carrying out ongoing health checks to ensure they are continually protected and supported.

Health surveillance is required by law, and employers have a general duty of care to ensure the health, safety and welfare of all their employees. An employee’s attendance for health surveillance is mandatory where a risk assessment has established there’s a need for health surveillance.
